Bangladesh’s central bank opted to not extend contract with FireEye for investigation into $81 million heist. Meanwhile, Ukrainian bank reportedly lost $10 million after hackers infiltrated network and transferred funds via SWIFT. Attackers used custom-built malware to infect Bangladesh Bank’s systems and hide evidence of the attacks. FireEye has provided extensive information relating to the attack to Bangladesh Bank and other financial institutions, a FireEye spokesman tells Information Security Media Group.
