Bangladesh Bank Ends FireEye Investigation Into Heist

Bangladesh’s central bank opted to not extend contract with FireEye for investigation into $81 million heist. Meanwhile, Ukrainian bank reportedly lost $10 million after hackers infiltrated network and transferred funds via SWIFT. Attackers used custom-built malware to infect Bangladesh Bank’s systems and hide evidence of the attacks. FireEye has provided extensive information relating to the attack to Bangladesh Bank and other financial institutions, a FireEye spokesman tells Information Security Media Group. Ukrainian bank, which they have declined to name, says it may be part of a much larger series of attacks.”]
