Gartner’s Avivah Litan says context-aware behavioral analytics can help IT security teams differentiate between relevant and irrelevant network anomalies. Litan: Companies should build profiles on users, accounts, clients, contractors, and others associated with the business. Using this system, Litan argues, there likely would have been no Target breach nor would there have been an Edward Snowden affair. The seventh layer is all alert management teams need to bring all relevant alerts together so they are receiving relevant alerts so that they receive relevant alerts.
