Attorney General Barr Argues for Access to Encrypted Content

U.S. Attorney General William Barr argued that irresponsible encryption is endangering public safety. He argued that backdoor access by law enforcement would only minimally increase data security risks. Barrs remarks drew criticism from Matt Blaze, a professor in the Department of Computer Science at Georgetown. Barr: “There have been enough dogmatic pronouncements that. simply cannot be done. “It can be, and it must be,” Barr said in remarks at Fordham University.”]
