Arbor’s Fort Disco botnet has a hit list of more than 400,000 domains

Arbor Networks released a report on a massive password bruteforce attack campaign. The campaign has systematically targeted websites running either WordPress or Joomla, the top two blogging and CMS development platforms on the Web. Arbor says that the bulk of the compromised websites reside in Russia and the Ukraine. However, the campaign is ongoing, and the attackers look to be covering their tracks, according to the report. The logs were a wealth of data, showing all of the activity, suggesting that not only is the attack ongoing, it’s growing.”]
