Apple patches Shellshock Bash bug in OS X 10.9, 10.8, and 10.7

Apple releases OS X Bash Update 1.0 for OS X Mavericks, Mountain Lion, and Lion. The update fixes the “Shellshock” bug in the Bash shell that we first reported on last week. Shellshock, in essence, allows attackers to issue commands to systems via malformed environment variables. The OS X update requires the OS X 10.9.5, 10.8.5 or 10.7.5 updates to be installed on your system first. An Apple rep says the bug will be fixed in future builds of the software.”]
