American Express issued a notification letter to cardholders on March 10 about a third-party service provider’s data breach. Cardholders’ account information may have been exposed after the incident on December 7, 2013. American Express says they are monitoring accounts for fraud, and cardholders should do the same and report any suspicious transactions. It isn’t clear why the there was such a delay in issuing the notification. The last time the letter was issued was in November of 2015, and the last time it happened was in 2008.”]
