Amazon cuts off Wikileaks after U.S. senator’s call

Senator Joe Lieberman says Amazon Web Services has stopped hosting the Wikileaks website. Lieberman: “Wikileaks’ illegal, outrageous, and reckless acts have compromised our national security” The site contains leaked State Department cables sent among members of the U.S. State Department. Lieberman says he will ask Amazon about the extent of its relationship with Wikileaks and what it will do in the future to make sure that its services are not used to distribute stolen or classified information. Anyone with a credit card and Internet connection can sign up for and start using Amazon’s Web Services.”]
