After NSA hacking expos, CIA staffers asked where Equation Group went wrong

WikiLeaks releases WikiLeaks document detailing online discussion on Equation Group hacking group. Hackers discussed how to avoid the same kind of unwelcome attention. The group operated in secret for more than a decade in secret, exploiting Windows vulnerabilities. The hackers monitored computers in at least 42 countries, sometimes by exploiting the same Windows vulnerabilities that would later be exploited by the Stuxnet worm that targeted Iran’s nuclear program. One user suggested peers avoid using non-standard crypto functions, avoid using custom names in code, and scrub code clean of PDB database information.”]
