Minnesota-based hospital Alomere Health has disclosed a security breach involving two employees’ email accounts. The personal and medical information of 49,351 patients was exposed following a security incident. Social Security numbers and driver’s license numbers might have also been exposed. The hospital advises customers who received an email notification to “review any statements they receive from their health insurers or healthcare providers”” and contact them immediately if they discover anything out of place like services that they did not receive being billed. The Minnesota hospital is now on a long list of healthcare providers impacted by breaches during the last month.”
