Researchers Link ‘Sharpshooter’ Cyber Attacks to North Korean Hackers

Researchers Analysed Sharpshooter’s Command Server and Command-and-control (C2) server. North Korean state-sponsored hacking group is behind global cyber espionage campaign, researchers say. The global espionage campaign began as early as September 2017, a year earlier than previously thought and is still ongoing. The most recent attacks have targeted Germany, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The analysis also revealed an African connection, as the researchers uncovered a network block of IP addresses originating from a city located in Namibia.
