As many as 3.2 million debit card details reportedly stolen from multiple Indian banks and financial platforms. Hacked Debit Cards Reportedly Used in China. SBI blocks affected debit cards and will re-issue 600,000 cards. Mastercard denies that its own systems were breached. Payments Council of India has ordered a forensic audit on Indian bank servers to measure the damage and investigate the origin of the cyber attack. It is not yet clear who is behind the attack, but a number of affected customers have observed unauthorized transactions made by their cards in various locations in China.
