Popular Russian media websites, website of election watchdog, were hacked Sunday. Journalists say attack was an attempt to jam information on parliamentary elections. Website of Golos election watchdog and website that was supposed to map fraud were down Sunday. Law enforcement officials had not commented on the attack as of late Sunday afternoon, though it was not clear what caused the attack. Independent and opposition media, as well as the LiveJournal social network, are often subjected to hacking attacks in Russia, though the Sunday assault was the most concerted and broad.
