Jamaica’s Prime Minister asks opposition to keep national cyber security capabilities private

Natonwide Radio posted an article on October 30, 2019, about Jamaica’s Prime Minister asking asks opposition to keep national cyber security capabilities private. Below are some key highlights:

  • Prime Minister Andrew Holness is urging the Opposition not to seek to reveal information which may compromise efforts by the Government to bolster Jamaica’s fragile cyber security capability.
  • Prime Minister Holness made the appeal when Opposition MPs, Fitz Jackson and Horace Dalley, yesterday questioned portfolio Minister, Fayval Williams, about the company which the Government is in talks with to bolster Jamaica’s cyber defence capabilities.
  • It was after that response from the Technology Minister that Prime Minister Holness intervened. The Prime Minister said he found the line of questioning by the Opposition, odd. Mr. Dalley defended his line of questioning.
