5 Held in Ukraine Over Phishing Scam With 70,000 Victims

Ukrainian cyber police have arrested five individuals charged with stealing credit card data from at least 70,000 people. The suspects allegedly used 40 separate phishing sites, which disguised themselves as mobile account replenishment services. The police confiscated computer equipment, mobile phones, flash drives, bank cards and more than 2 million hryvnias ($69,000) in cash. Organizers recruited individuals to transfer the stolen money in exchange for a percentage of the “profit” from each fraudulent operation, police say.”]
