4 in 10 Security Cameras Are Vulnerable to Cyberattacks, Research Shows

Research shows that 7 in 10 cameras use out-of-date firmware and 4 in 10 are vulnerable to hacking due to unpatched vulnerabilities. The companies building the hardware need to provide the patches for any vulnerabilities discovered, but they often dont. Some people and companies still use default login credentials provided by the manufacturer, which are usually publicly available. Some customers use the same credentials on all devices or use easy-to-guess user name and password combinations. Some manufacturers require users to set up a new password during configuration, but that doesn’t solve all the problems.”]
