4.9 million Tricare patients data exposed in data breach. Social Security numbers, addresses, phone numbers and private health information for patients in 10 states. No credit card or bank account information was on backup tapes, officials say. No indication that the data has been accessed by unauthorized persons, they say. Back-up computer tapes containing personally identifiable and protected health information were stolen. The company, SAIC, is working with local police and private investigator to recover the tapes, a spokesman says.
