Kaspersky researchers identify advanced threat actor (APT) LuminousMoth. The campaign has been going back to at least last October and targeting first Myanmar and now mostly the Philippines. The noise of a high-volume attack is a red flag for researchers, but it’s not uncommon. The hackers are using a unique set of tools and malware propagation methods, but their network infrastructure shares parts with another notorious Chinese hacking group named Mustang Panda, a.k.a. HoneyMyte or RedDelta.
