Your Next Smartphone Could Have Security Sensors Built Into Its Screen

Researchers from Polytechnique Montreal create in-glass sensors in Gorilla Glass. Sensors can track changes in light to detect temperature, temperature and other external parameters. A unique waveguide etched into the glass is etched into a screen to ensure that the phone is the one it claims to be, not stolen or cloned. The technology could be production-ready within about a year, but there’s no plan to roll it onto phones just yet. Ultimately, many of the sensors could be installed in the screen, so would ease the load on your battery.”]
