Police in the US state of New Mexico are crediting a voice assistant with saving the life of a woman by calling the sheriff at her command during an alleged assault. Eduardo Barros allegedly held up a firearm and threatened to kill the woman, asking her: Did you call the sheriffs? The question was interpreted as a voice command and a call was placed to the emergency services, presumably by an always-listening device such as an iPhone with Siri. Barros is facing charges of possession of a firearm or destructive device by a felon, aggravated battery against a household member.”]
