You Don’t Call, You Don’t E-Mail

President Bush signed the Can-Spam Act into law in December 2003. President Bush challenged the Federal Trade Commission to determine whether a Do Not E-Mail registry could work. The FTC’s report is due June 16, 2004. The Direct Marketing Association has told the FTC that it believes a registry will do nothing to reduce spam. But there are those who support the registry, including Phillip Hallam-Baker, principal scientist at VeriSign, think it will help reduce unsolicited e-mails.”]
