The cybersecurity industry has been historically dominated by men. The percentage of women in the field is only 24%, but there’s still a lot of work to be done to attract, mentor, and retain more women. Organizations should create an arsenal of resources that can be used to attract and retain current and future women in cybersecurity. Women are more likely to target organizations that are vocal about, and show, their commitment to equality. When you’re interviewing, ask to speak to women on the team, and if they feel supported and challenged.
