Wireshark is an open source and cross-platform network protocol analysis software that runs on Windows and most UNIX-like platforms such as Linux, FreeBSD, and macOS. It’s replacing the no longer maintained WinPcap packet capture library with the Npcap packet sniffing and sending library for Windows. The latest version also comes with a huge list of new protocols it can capture, from Apple Wireless Direct Link (AWDL) and Cisco Meraki Discovery Protocol to the 5G.
