Windows 7 will reach end of support on January 14, 2020, a decade after its initial release. Microsoft will no longer provide software updates and security updates or fixes for products that have reached end support. Free upgrades to Windows 10 from Windows 7 for free were only available until July 29, 2016, but free upgrades are still a thing. Google Chrome will continue to support Windows 7 through July 15, 2021 (at least) Google Edge and Microsoft Edge will also continue to provide security updates for the product.
