Windows 10 2004 improves potentially unwanted app protection

Microsoft has added a ‘Potentially unwanted app blocking’ setting that allows you to enable protection against PUAs and PUPs. Microsoft Defender has been able to detect and remove PUAs/PUPs for years but only after the feature was manually enabled via PowerShell or through Group Policies. The ‘Reputation-based protection’ setting combines all the detection settings that are based on the reputation of a particular web site, download, or application. When enabled, the ‘Block potentially unwanted apps’ setting is enabled in the new Microsoft Edge browser will block PUAs as they are downloaded.
