WikiLeaks Founder Charged With Conspiring With LulzSec & Anonymous Hackers

U.S. government files superseding indictment against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. Indictment accuses Assange of collaborating with computer hackers, including those affiliated with LulzSec and “Anonymous” Assange was charged in May 2019 with 18 counts under the old Espionage Act for unlawfully publishing classified military and diplomatic documents on his WikiLeaks website in 2010. Assange is currently in prison in the U.K., where he is awaiting possible extradition to the United States, pending a September hearing. If convicted for all counts, Assange could face a total maximum sentence of 175 years in prison.
