White House announces ransomware task force and hacking back is one option

A White House task force is tracking efforts to stop attacks on U.S. infrastructure. It will offer rewards totaling up to $10 million for information leading to the arrests of alleged cyber criminals, an official says. The White House is also looking at partnerships with cyber insurance providers and businesses to share information about attacks more quickly. The U.N. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency will launch an interagency website, stopransomware.gov, to collect defensive guidance from various agencies.
