Lambda is an event-driven computing platform that runs when triggered by an event and executes code that’s been loaded into the system. The Seattle Times uses Lambda to automatically resize images for mobile, tablet and desktop devices. Amazon’s competitors have their own versions of Lambda. It could be a replacement for one of Amazon’s most popular cloud services: EC2.
