Google and researchers at Stanford University have released an in-depth study analysing 5 months worth of phishing and malware mails sent globally. The results were then fed into a presentation at the Internet Measurement Conference. The study looked at more than a billion mails. The US received the highest volume of mails, with the highest risk countries in Africa and Europe. English is the international language of scamming, with most attacks deploying English email templates across multiple countries. The risk of being targeted increases a little as you move upward through each age group.”]
