Wawa Stores: POS Malware Attack Undetected for 8 Months

Wawa convenience store chain says malware planted on point-of-sale devices went undetected for 8 months. The unknown strain of malware appears have to have harvested payment card information. Wawa is a regional chain with over 850 convenience stores with 600 fuel stations, located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and Washington, D.C. The malware apparently first appeared March 4 and then spread to most of the company’s point of sale machines by April 22, the company says.”]
