Verizon s Data Breach Investigations Report will now include data from hundreds of computer crime cases investigated by the U.S. Secret Service. The report, which is among the best at tracking data loss incidents, is based on a framework called VERIS that allows the comparison of data sets. Verizon (of course) also uses VERIS, the result is two very compelling datasets that represent a sizable proportion of known data breaches last year. The 2010 DBIR is slated for release later this summer.
