US Hospitals Warned of Threat of Imminent Ransomware Attack

FBI, CISA, and HHS warn of ‘increased and imminent cybercrime threat’ to US hospitals and healthcare providers. Warns of ‘imminent’ threat posed by notorious Ryuk ransomware. Hospitals told to harden their defences and ensure they have a mitigation strategy which can be deployed quickly. Such an infection could result in the theft of sensitive medical data and the disruption of healthcare services, says the FBI and HHS advisory from the Department of Health and Human Services. Ransomware has been used in recent attacks on UHS, Sopra Steria and Steelcase.”]
