U.S. Department of Justice will pursue government contractors that fail to report cybersecurity incidents. Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco announced the creation of a National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team, or NCET, on Wednesday. Monaco: “For too long, companies have chosen silence under the mistaken belief that it is less risky to hide a breach than to bring it forward and to report it” Lawmakers in recent weeks have introduced legislation that would impose both cybersecurity incident and ransom payment requirements on certain organizations, particularly those considered critical infrastructure.”]
