U.S. Data Center Provider Hit by Ransomware Attack

CyrusOne, a large data center provider in the U.S., announced on Thursday that some of its systems were affected by a ransomware attack. Six of its customers are affected because of file-encrypted malware. These customers are mainly serviced by the company’s New York Data Center. The company’s managed service division is currently working to restore activity to normal. The attack seems to be the work of REvil, also known as Sodinokibi. REvil has quickly risen through the ranks this year.
