Unsecured Server Exposed Records of 1.2 Billion: Researchers

An unsecured Elasticsearch server exposed 4 terabytes of personal data on over 1.2 billion individuals. The server stored 622 million email addresses, 50 million phone numbers, names and profile information from LinkedIn and Facebook profiles. Its not clear who owns the server or if any of the personal information it contained has been accessed by hackers or cybercriminals. People Data Labs and OxyData denied that they owned the server, saying they have not experienced a recent data breach or loss of data.”]
