Ukrainian city of Kherson was captured by Russian forces in the early hours of Feb. 25, 2022, and its internet and mobile services were soon disrupted. Ukraine’s internet services were restored on Sunday, albeit through regional Ukrainian provider Skynet. The disconnection was “caused by breakdowns of fiber-optic cables and cutoffs of power supply to operators’ equipment in the area,” says SSSCIP. The State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine said the disconnection is caused by line breakages at fiber optic backbones and by a power outage.”]
