The U.S. Department of Justice has seized several domains associated with KickassTorrents. Artem Vaulin, 30, was arrested in Poland and charged with criminal copyright infringement. He’s believed to have designed the site’s original website and overseen its operations, the DOJ said. The site is one of the world’s most popular illegal file-sharing sites, with 50 million unique users using the BitTorrent protocol each month, prosecutors said. It’s unclear what the DOJ will do with the domains it has seized, but the main site appeared to be still running Wednesday afternoon.
