U.S. DoD Hopes To Stamp Out Threats With Bug Bounty Program

The U.S. Department of Defense is expanding its bug bounty program to include the agency s massive Defense Travel System. Up to 600 eligible white-hat hackers will be invited to participate in the challenge. The program is part of a push by the government to explore new approaches to its security, and to adopt the best practices used by the most successful and secure software companies in the world. In 2016, the Hack the Pentagon program was first launched and since then over 3,000 vulnerabilities have been resolved in government systems.
