U of Fla Warns Dental School Patients of Breach

University of Florida says it has notified 333,000 people about potential compromise of personal data. Names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and addresses of current and former patients. Breach was discovered Oct. 3 while server was being upgraded. Data had been stored unencrypted in database on the breached server, university says. Breach occurred despite what it said were several previous security measures designed to mitigate such risks.
