Twitter hacked, at least 250,000 users affected: what you can do to protect yourself

Twitter is the latest web property to admit that intruders seem to have been wandering around its network for some time. The attackers may have had access to limited user information usernames, email addresses, passwords and encrypted/salted versions of passwords for approximately 250,000 users. Twitter also links to advice on how to turn off Java in your browser, but doesnt say whether the activation of Java in the browser had anything to do with the breaking to Twitters network.”]
