Twins Plead Guilty to Hacking Schemes

Twin brothers pleaded guilty in federal court June 26 to a range of identity theft and hacking-related charges. Sohaib and Muneeb Akhter, 23, admitted that they had used their positions as government contractors to help carry out hack attacks. The brothers will be sentenced Sept. 25; Muneebs Akhters faces up to 50 years in prison, while Sohabshter faces a sentence of up to 30 years. In 2011, the twins were the youngest graduates of George Mason University at the age of 19 – and who later went on to win a $200,000 research grant from the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency.”]
