Turkish Group Using Phishing Emails to Hijack Popular Instagram Profiles

Turkish-speaking hackers are hijacking popular Instagram profiles, Trend Micro says. The group has been using a phishing scam to take over the profiles of people with between 15,000 and 70,000 followers. They have changed the primary contact information associated with the breached accounts to lock the original owners out. Instagram has urged users to ensure account security is in place in place as an extra precaution. Instagram says it will never proactively email you about verification and we will certainly never attempt to sell any products or services in ads.”]
