Trinidad and Tobago: Section 42(a),(b) of Data Protection Act enter into force

Section 42(a) and (b) of the Data Protection Act 2011 entered into force on 23 August 2021. The Sections concern the disclosure of personal information under the control of a public body, which, among other things, may only be disclosed for the purposes for which the information was collected; for any purpose in accordance with any written law or warrant issued or order made by a court;. for the purpose of, legal proceedings involving the state;. or under a written agreement, treaty or under the authority of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.
