TrickBot’s new ‘TrickBoot’ module infects your UEFI firmware

TrickBot malware developers have created a new module that probes for UEFI vulnerabilities. For now, the verification targets only Intel platforms (Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake, Comet Lake) Nevertheless, the module also includes code to read, write, and erase firmware so it can be used for significant damage. TrickBot, whose average daily infections can get as high as several thousand thousand times a day, is developing a module that can take attacks at a level that would give them ultimate control over infected machines.
