Three tech-support scammers charged with ripping off the elderly

Three alleged tech-support scammers have been charged with bilking the elderly out of at least $1.3 million for tech support services they didnt need and never got. The defendants are Gunjit Malhotra, Gurjet Singh and Jas Pal, both 22, of Queens, New York, and Gunjit Singh, 30, of Ghaziabad, India; Singh, 22, and Pal, 54, also of Queens. Malvertising, cold calls, malvertising and fake ads are all well-known tools in the tech support scammers kit. One victim sent in eight or so checks that added up to $65,810 and then sent in yet another 10 checks totaling about $70,805.”]
