Three Banks closed on Jan. 15: Town Community Bank and Trust, St. Stephen State Bank, Minnesota, and Barnes Banking Company, Utah, closed. The FDIC created Deposit Insurance National Bank of Kaysville (DINB), which will remain open until February 12, 2010 to allow depositors access to their insured deposits. The cost to the FDIC’s Deposit Insurance Fund (DIF) is estimated to be $7.2 million. Depositors of the Bank of Illinois’ sole branch were to reopen on Saturday as a branch of First American Bank.”]
