Threat Landscape Report Reveals Evolution of Malware to Exploit Cryptocurrencies

Fortinet has released its Quarterly Threat Landscape Report for Q1 of 2018. Over one in five organizations now report mobile malware (up 7%, to 21%), Web oriented technologies were also heavily hunted by cybercriminals. Ransomware continues to evolve, leveraging new delivery channels such as social engineering, and new techniques such as multi-stage attacks to evade detection and infect systems. Microsoft continued to be the number one target for exploits, while routers took the number two spot in total attack volume. Cryptojacking has doubled in Q1 to impact 28% of companies.”]
