Ransomware continues to target the enterprise and local government in the hopes of a big windfall of bitcoins. Lasalle County, Illinois and the City of Novi Sad, Serbia got hit with a new ransomware called PwndLocker. Emsisoft was able to figure out a way to decrypt the files without paying a ransom. New variants of STOP, Dharma, and other families continue to be released. Ransom actors continue to leak data for victims who do not pay a ransom and cause the personal information of employees to be leaked.
