The Week in Ransomware – July 8 2016 – Alfa, PadCrypt, Microsoft Decryptor, PizzaCrypts, and More

This was a slow ransomware week in the beginning, but picked up steam towards the end. This week we had 1 new decryptor, 4 new ransomware infections, a new variant of CrytpXXX Ransomware, and the reemergence of PadCrypt. A new file encrypter has been created by BloodDolly, which is from the developers of Cerber. When files are encrypted they will have the.bin extension appended to them and the ransom notes are named README HOW TO DECRYPT YOUR FILES.html and README.txt.
