This week we did not see too many new variants released, but we did have some interesting ransomware news. We had the Mailto Ransomware identified as an enterprise-targeting infection after being used in a cyber attack against the Australian Toll Group. We also continue to see ransomware groups such as REvil follow through with their threats of publishing data online when a victim does not pay a ransom. Five law firms have been hit by a notorious ransomware group known as Maze three within the last 72 hours alone.
